The Motor City Wash Works Team would like to say, “Thank You!”, to all those that attended our Annual Open House and Live Charity Auction. We appreciate everyone who took the time from their busy schedules and families to spend a few days with all of us. Our event continues to grow and would not be possible without the support from our distributors, customers and industry partners.
We started our Open House 12 years ago (2008). Initially, the event was simply an Open House to welcome car wash professionals to our factory to get to know Motor City Wash Works on a more one on one basis. Participants were able to tour our facility and get the chance to meet our team. When we founded our company back in 2004, we started with just a few employees and about 3,000 square feet on our factory floor. Now we have over 100 employees and a 68,000 square foot facility. Meeting the team is a little harder than it used to be.
We were so proud to have the Live Charity Auction at the historic Gem Theatre again this year, especially with the return of our amazing auctioneer and the Golden Ticket Raffle!
The event has not always been a fundraiser, but since starting the charity auction in 2013, we’ve raised over $1,100,000 for charity. This is due in part to the increasing number of attendants. In 2013, we had 74 attendants. Attendance has grown to an incredible 250+ this year.
We truly appreciate all of the companies and individuals that participated to make this the largest Live Charity Auction and raffle that Motor City Wash Works has hosted to date.
We are honored to partner with St. Jude. The generosity our participants showed will aid in continuing the amazing work that this charity is doing to save the lives of sick children. No family ever receives a bill for treatment and all care is paid for by donations. Your noble and thoughtful donations were so heartwarming and will make a huge difference in the mission to find cures.
Last year we raised enough money to donate $352,000 to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Motor City Wash Works has hosted a Factory Open House for the past 12 years, and it has become quite an annual event. In 2015, the open house event turned into a charity fundraiser for the benefit of the St. Jude Finding Cures Saving Children program, which included a Live Auction, a Silent Auction and Raffle. With the generous participation of our industry guests , we have raised over $1,100,000 for the children of St. Jude!
